Paul Maurer | General Superintendent

Paul Maurer is G2 Builders Superintendant and has been in the construction industry since 1984. Paul started as an apprentice bricklayer and worked his way up to General Superintendent for one of the largest union mason contractors in Chicago. His ability to understand problems before they happen allowed him the flexibility to not only run work, but he was the go-to guy for estimating, design, and scheduling for Esche & Lee.

Paul’s ability to run large numbers of skilled labor on various projects was a driving force in him becoming a senior superintendent for G2 Builders. We found that his ability to constantly problem-solve and dive right into any situation was invaluable. Paul has become a retail and Multi-use specialist for G2 Builders, and his 25 years in the business have provided him with a wealth and variety of project experience including retail, restaurant, office, industrial and residential type projects both on new construction and renovations.

One of the hallmark’s of Paul personality is he can’t sit still. On jobs you will see him jumping on a piece of equipment, digging holes, and laboring for other subs just so he can be a part of the team. His philosophy is to lead by example and he feels if he is the hardest worker, everyone will follow.

Paul’s primary responsibilities are to coordinate and maintain all field-related activities for the construction project including manpower, tools and equipment, project schedule, job site safety, and subcontractor work. Paul’s attention to detail and commitment to quality are crucial to the success of the projects he manages. His ability to juggle multiple projects and meet stringent deadlines helps him to deliver quality projects on time and on budget.

Paul’s strength and dedication has earned him a leadership position on G2’s executive board. He has won the respect and admiration of some of our more well-known clients such as Ross Dress for Less, Classic Cinema, Sears and Hobby Lobby.

On his free time, Paul spends time with his wife Jennifer, daughter and son. Paul is an avid Bears fan, golfer, and hunter.
